I'm a compulsive sticky-note writer. When I have an idea or a little note-to-self in my head, I put it down on a sticky and tack that somewhere. More often than not, that sticky will be forgotten/lost/crushed/destroyed before I ever make anything of it, and I often find myself rehashing the same ideas out over and over again. At the end of the day, I have tons of stickies, and no progress on any of them.
For the first time in four years, I have dug myself back into an activist's role, and while I cannot wait to dive into and explore some potentially awesome ideas, I am also scared senseless. I'm going to be involved in quite a few projects for the next year, and I wanted a place where I could write down developments in each one, as stickies just won't cut it this time.
My two main projects will be with Pride UBC as the Political Coordinator, and, to a lesser extent, the Secretary, as well as my new involvement with the Carr Education Foundation, which is sponsoring the Daraja Academy project. Additionally, I hope to remain involved with Positive Space, the Asexual Visibility and Education Foundation (AVEN), and a little bit of city green work. Oh, yes, and school hellraising. Plus some education. And maybe a part-time job that, y'know. Pays.
So, while I am not sure that this blog will be interesting, exciting, or enlightening, I do hope to keep it regularly updated with my progress and several stickies a week detailing new ideas. Who knows. Maybe one day, those ideas will actually happen.
